The disc screen feeder is an integrated feeding system that combines screening and metering feeding functions. Its core components are a rotating disc with adjustable scrapers and a built-in screen (usually 3-10mm aperture for clay brick production), which can effectively remove excessive particles while delivering homogenous materials to the extruder or mixer.
Core equipment for raw material pretreatment
In the clay sintered brick production line, the disc screen feeder is located between the raw material crushing system and the mixing/extrusion section, and undertakes the following key functions:
Screening and impurity removal: Filter impurities such as stones and plant roots in the clay through a rotating screen (usually 3-10mm in aperture) to avoid damage to subsequent equipment (such as the screw of the vacuum extruder).
Uniform feeding: Through the rotation of the adjustable speed disc (speed 2-15rpm), the clay is transported to the next process at a constant flow rate to ensure the stability of the mixer or extruder feeding.
Moisture adjustment: Some high-end models have an integrated spray system, which can evenly add moisture during the feeding process (adjustment range ±2% moisture content).
